Dennis Albrecht, 67, of Stockton, IL died on February 20, 2017 surrounded by his wife, Denise (Ven Huizen) and family, after a 6 year, brave battle of prostate cancer.
Dennis was born in Freeport, IL on November 21, 1949 to Glen and Viola Albrecht of Elizabeth, IL. Dennis graduated from Elizabeth High School and went to Southern Illinois University School of Banking. Dennis retired from The Elizabeth State Bank after 31 years. He also served many years on the Elizabeth Fire Department. While retired, Dennis and Denise owned Dad's Bar & Grill in Polo, IL, he then worked at the Stockton Station, Citizens State Bank and mowed for Woodbine Bend and the Stockton Park District.
Dennis was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved the Atlanta Braves, who he went and saw twice in the World Series. Dennis loved to canoe, fish, camp and travel with his wife, Denise. He enjoyed playing baseball, cooking and eating chicken wings, joking around and spending time with his Grandkids, especially watching the Mickey Mouse Club with his little Buttercup. Dennis also had his faithful dog, Paddy, and walked him daily.

Survivors include his wife Denise of Stockton, IL and his children, Ryan Albrecht of Dixon, IL, Tara (Blake) Roddick of Galena, IL, Breanne (Matt) Ivens of Middleton, WI and step sons, Clint Haas and Cory (Nicole) Haas all of Stockton, IL and special Daughter-in-law, Amanda Birchen Haas of Stockton, IL; brother Bruce (Nancy) Albrecht of South Pasadena, FL, sisters Carol (Larry) Elliot of Elizabeth, IL and Barbara (Jerry) Hatfield of Dixon, IL; Mother-law-Judy Ven Huizen of Stockton, IL. Grandkids Brecken (Sydney), Andrew & Logan Albrecht, Ian & Kennedy Roddick, Henry & Norah Ivens, Elijah & Weston Haas and Emma & Payton Haas; and many nieces and nephews and in-laws.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and a father-in-law Arnie Ven Huizen.

The family would like to thank FHN Hospice for the care in his final days. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dennis' name to UW Carbone Cancer Research Center for Prostate Cancer or FHN Hospice. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Glen Albrecht
August 30, 1917 - October 30, 2014

Glen Emery Albrecht, age 97, of Elizabeth, Illinois went to his heavenly home Thursday, October 30, 2014 in Elizabeth. A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2014 at Faith Lutheran Church, Elizabeth, Illinois, with a visitation being held for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery, Woodbine, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Elizabeth. Glen was born August 30, 1917, the son of Jacob and Emma (Reusch) Albrecht in Massbach, Illinois. He attended country schools near Massbach. On June 14, 1947, Glen married the love of his life, Viola Knutti, in Hanover, Illinois. Glen owned and operated Albrecht Brothers with his brother Art, where they sold John Deere equipment. Later, Glen owned Albrecht Construction.
Glen was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Elizabeth and was very active in the church that he helped construct. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing, walnuts and making wine. Most of all, he treasured the time that he spent with his family and friends.

Glen will be dearly missed by his wife of sixty-seven years, Viola of Elizabeth; two sons, Bruce (Nancy) Albrecht of Miami, Florida, Dennis (Denise) Albrecht of Stockton, Illinois; two daughters, Carol (Larry) Elliott of Elizabeth, Barbara (Jerry) Hatfield of Dixon, Illinois; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren. Glen is preceded in death by his three brothers Helmer, Art and Lester.

Viola Albrecht, age 86, of Elizabeth, Illinois, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, while at the Elizabeth Nursing Home, Elizabeth, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 3, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church, Elizabeth. Burial will take place in Woodbine Cemetery, Woodbine, Illinois. A visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Elizabeth, a second visitation will also be held from 9:30 till the time of the service at the church on Monday. A memorial fund has been established in Viola’s memory for Faith Lutheran Church.

Viola was born May 9, 1929, in Winslow, Illinois, the daughter of Karl Sr. and Martha (Streiff) Knutti. She attended Winslow schools. On June 14, 1947, Viola married Glen Albrecht in Hanover, Illinois. They celebrated 67 years of marriage before Glen’s death on October 30, 2014.

Viola worked as a clerk at Bishop’s Busy Big Store in Elizabeth for 5 years. She also worked at River Ridge and Elizabeth Schools as a teacher’s aide for 30 years. Viola enjoyed cooking, ironing, refinishing furniture, and playing cards. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Elizabeth and a member of Faith Dorcas Circle.
Viola is survived by her two sons, Bruce (Nancy) Albrecht of Miami, Florida, and Dennis (Denise) Albrecht of Stockton, Illinois; two daughters, Carol (Larry) Elliott of Elizabeth, Illinois, and Barbara (Jerry) Hatfield of Dixon, Illinois; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hattie Clark of Woodford, Wisconsin. Viola is preceded in death by her husband, Glen; her parents, Karl Sr. and Martha; three sisters, Marguerite, Gladys, and Clara; and five brothers, Clarence, Walter, Karl, Ralph, and Benjamin.
