    Aylesford, in 1634, from Sandwich aboard the Hercules, under command
    of Capt. John Weyherly, bound for the plantation called New England.
    They settled, with five children in Ipswich, MA He was a tailor.

    Thomas Hayward with his wife Susanna, came from Aylesford, England.In
    1635 they came to the colonies on the "Hercules" and settled in
    Duxbury around 1638. He might have come as early as 1632 on the
    "William and Francis" and then returned to England before his
    finaltrip in 1635. He was one of the original proprietors of
    Bridgewater.He had Thomas; Nathaniel; John, m. Sarah Mitchell; Joseph,
    m. Alice Brett and Hannah Mitchell; Elisha; Mary, m. Edward Mitchell;
    Martha,m. John Howard. He had a brother John who settled first in
    Plymouth,and afterwards in Dartmouth. He was made a freeman in 1646.
    His will was dated 1678.

    Info from Warren Alieff, 4 Aug 88, who obtained it from charts by Alice Brown, a friend of Annie Drummond Rogers.

    give Joseph instead of Jonathan." Savage says, "I would suggest the
    inquiry, if that wid. were not the sec. w. of Mr. Willis, and some of
    his ch. b. by a former one." "Mitchell says his will, of 1692, pro.
    1693 refers to the eight ch. of wh. Hannah was w. of Nathaniel Haward

    [p. 5] On 21 September, 1686, "Administration is granted to Elkanan
    Willis of Bridgwater .... on the Estate of his father Nathaniel Willis
    deceased & the Court Desireth his uncle John Willis to assist him in
    the managment of sd Administration" and Elkanan and John gave bond for
    £40.
    John Willis arrived on the ship "Paul" from London heading toVirginia.
    It is not known where he John actually landed. He is in Duxbury
    Massachusetts when he married 1 Feb 1637/8, Elizabeth(Hodgkins)
    Palmer, widow of William Palmer Jr. She had three children by Palmer.
    John and Elizabeth had 8 children of which one was Comfort.

    Administratation granted 24:4:1673 to Johana Towne on the estate of Wm Towne, her late husband, and she was to bring in an inventory to the next Ipswich court.

    Petition for settlement of a small estate left the undersigned by their father, who died ten years ago leaving no will, but left his estatein the
    hands of their mother who was appointed admininistratrix and the estate remained unsettled until her death, and now they desire that the following division may be allowed: the land to be divided equally to his three sons, Edmund, Jacob, and Joseph and the moveables equally to the three daughters, Rebecka, Mary and Sarah; also the three brothers to pay all debts now due and what charges shall after arise in settlement of the estate to be equally borne by all six.
