    William Guiliamse/Willem Gillemse Cornel/Willem Guljamse was born about 1635 inEurope. He was a magistrate of the town of Flatbush from 1659 to 1664. He wasa member of the Reformed Dutch Church of Flatbush. He married Margarita Polhemius prior to 1702. He was allotted a bouwery in Flatbush with meadow land. Hisname appears on the ass. rolls of Flatbush in 1675 and 1683. He died in May 1690 in Flatbush, NY.

    Guilliam Cornelis/Guilliame Cornell/Gelyam Cornelise Cornel came to this country at an early period; he was probably a Huguenot. He settled in Flatbush. On Aug. 9, 1658, he procured, from Director Stuyvesant, a patent for a plantation inMidwout (Flatbush). In 1661 he and his son Pieter Geliamse bought a bouwery from Jan Evertse Bout. He died before July 1666 in Flatbush, New York.

    Reverend Johannes Theodorus Polhemius was born in 1598 in Boirkirchen, Switzerland (son of Johann Theodor Polhemius). He settled in the Palatine, Germany from1625-1628. He lived in Meppel, Overyssel, Netherlands from 1628-1630. He married at this time to an unknown first wife. He had a daughter baptized in 1629 inthe Netherlands. He returned to the Palatine, Germany and lived there from 1630-1635. He immigrated before October 1636, to Wholfstein, Rehnish, Bavaria. Hesailed on October 25, 1636 from Texel Harbor near Amsterdam, Holland and landedon Jan. 23, 1637 in Recif of Pernambuco, Brazil. He was in Olinda, Brazil from1635-1645. He married in 1643 on Isle Itmarca, Brazil to Catharina Van Werven.He was a minister in Itamacus, Brazil from 1645-1654. The Dutch in Brazil wereevacuated in 1654, when the country was surrendered to Portugal. In April 1654he sailed to the Netherlands, on a ship which was captured by a Spanish privateer (or French Man-of-War). In 1654 he landed in New Amsterdam, age about 56, settling in Flatlands, Long Island, New York. He was the first regularly stationed minister of the Dutch on Long Island. When he came here, his wife did not accompany him. She went to Holland to seek collection of the money owed him by the Dutch West India Company. He was the minister in the church in Flatbush from1654-1665. He was the Founding Father of the First Reformed Church of Brokelynand served there until his death. In 1672, he owned property in Flatbush, LongIsland. He died June 9, 1676 in Flatbush, New York.
