    HERVEY, Steven Willard -- Steven Willard HERVEY, age 58, passed away November 3, 2010 at the Van Buren County Hospital.

    Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Behner Funeral Home, with Pastor Danny Cary and Reverend Mike Metz officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery with military rites.

    Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, November 8, 2010 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Behner Funeral Home.

    Steve was born on June 14, 1952 in Keosauqua, to Byron and Florencie EWING HERVEY. He married Carol Sue McWHIRTER on May 19, 1973 at Barhydt Chapel in Fairfield.

    Steve worked for over 40 years at the family business, Hervey Implement, as a mechanic and he also farmed and raised cattle. He served and retired from the Iowa National Guard. He graduated from Van Buren High School in 1970.

    Steve is survived by his wife: Carol of 37 years of Birmingham, his father: Byron HERVEY of Mt. Ayr, 3 children: Cory (Ann LAUX) HERVEY of Birmingham, Devon (Craig) HEADLEY of Birmingham and Carey (David) CANADAY of Richland, 5 grandchildren: Brian HERVEY, Autumn CANADAY, Brayden CANADAY, Bailey HEADLEY and Braxton HEADLEY, 4 siblings: Marshia (Bruce) MOSENA of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Kathy (Frances) HORN of Fairfield and Randy (Susan) and Kevin (Gayle) HERVEY of Keosauqua and his mother-in-law: Dora McWHIRTER along with aunts and uncles.

    He was preceded by his mother.

    Byron Willard Hervey, 80, of Mount Ayr, formerly of Keosauqua, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr.

    Born June 22, 1930, in Scotland County, Mo., he was the son of Willard and Opal Wolf Hervey. On March 30, 1948, he married Florencie Ewing. They divorced. In 1997, he married Marion Swank.

    Mr. Hervey worked 46 years as a farm implement dealer in Keosauqua. He was a member of Keosauqua Fire Department, Keosauqua City Council and Van Buren Flying Club.

    Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Marshia Mosena of Bella Vista, Ark., and Kathy Horn of Fairfield; two sons, Randy Hervey and Kevin Hervey, both of Keosauqua; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one stepdaughter, Shirley Hightshoe of Mount Ayr; two stepsons, Steve Swank of Maloy and Kenneth Swank of Monett, Mo.; four stepgrandchildren; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by one son, his parents, his stepfather and one sister.

    No visitation is planned. The body has been cremated.

    The memorial service for Mr. Hervey will be at a later date. Burial will be in Center Chapel Cemetery in rural Keosauqua.

    A memorial has been established for Center Chapel Cemetery.

    Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua is in charge of arrangements.

    KEOSAUQUA - Florencie May (Ewing) Hervey, 82, formerly of Keosauqua, died at 7:37 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at Sunnybrook Living Care Center in Fairfield.

    She was born March 11, 1928, in Kilbourne, the eldest daughter of Martin F. and Florence Grade Ewing. Florencie attended rural country schools and graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1945. She married Byron W. Hervey on March 30, 1948, in Fairfield. They were divorced in 1993. She worked at the Sugar Bowl, Downard’s Cafe, as a nurse’s aide at the Good Samaritan Home and retired in 1993 after 30 years as the bookkeeper for Hervey Implement Company, all in Keosauqua.

    Florencie is survived by two daughters, Marshia Mosena (Bruce) of Bella Vista, Ark., and Kathy Horn (Francis) of Fairfield; and three sons, Steve Hervey (Carol) of Birmingham, Randy Hervey and Kevin Hervey (Gayle) of Keosauqua; two sisters, Ruth Clark (Ernie) of Keosauqua and Reva McRoy (Bill) of Bloomfield; and one brother, Lee Ewing (Becky) of Stockport; nieces, nephews and many friends.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, one half brother, Wayne Grade; and one brother, William Ewing; one sister in infancy; and her sister-in-law, Valeria Ferris.

    Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday Oct. 1, 2010, at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with Rev. ellis andrews officiating. She will be cremated following services. A private committal service at Forbes Cemetery with the family will be held at a later date.

    Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday afternoon immediately preceding the funeral service.
