LENEXA : Laura Latschar, 86, Lenexa, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2006.

Mrs. Latschar was born Laura Herr on Aug. 17, 1920, in Manhattan, the daughter of E.A. and Beth (Gish) Herr. She received her Bachelor of Science in home economics from Kansas State University, in 1941.

She married Carl E. Latschar on Aug. 28, 1941, in Abilene.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Vivian Hawley St. Clair.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Carl; four daughters, Lucille Jewett and husband Rich, Carol Kessler and husband Ulrich, Beth Latschar and Joanne McNair and husband John; a son, John and wife Terry; a sister, Alice Reinecke; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lenexa United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Abilene.

Memorials may be made to the church.
