    William Stenger - son of Johann Georg and Christina Stenger, was born in Franklin Co., Pennsylvania and reared on the farm, He was married to Nancy Keze (Kesey) (Kaze), daughter of John and Mary Keze (Kesey)(Kaze) of Franklin Co., Penna. They were farmers, living on the plantation which his father owned in Peter's Township, Franklin Co., Pennsylvania.

    However William was not permitted to continue for any great length of time, as on Oct. 22-1795 his widow Nancy asks the Court to appoint her father and William’s father to a administer William's estate. William Stenger life was cut short at the age of 40. He inherited a considerable amount of land from his father Johann Georg Stenger my 5th Great Grandfather. Three of his five children migrated to Ohio, with Nancy his wife who had remarried. His name is Daniel Ernst, she first settled in Harrison County, later moving to Carroll County, near Kilgore, Ohio.

    William is buried at Grindstone Hill Cemetery, near Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. The three children who came to Ohio with Thier mother were Mary, George and Catherine. The other two children George and William died at a young age. Note that there were two son's named George, my Great Great Great Grandfather George must of been named after his brother who died at birth. William's wife Nancy maiden name Keze has been found spelled different ways. She is buried at the Chambers Cemetery,
    Carrollton, Ohio.

    William married Kesey, Nancy in 1780. Nancy (daughter of Kesey, John and (Kesey), Mary) was born in 1767 in Pennsylvania, USA; died after 1850; was buried in Carroll Co., Ohio, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    After Williams death, his widow Nancy came to Ohio with her three children 1798. Nancy was married in 1863 to Daniel Ernst, whether prior to her coming to Ohio or after arriving in Ohio is uncertain.

    note: 1863 cannot be the correct marriage date (MDH).

    John Kesey’s wife was Mary. His children were; John, Barbara, Elizabeth, Nancy and Mary

    Each child willed 50 (pounds). Also 500 (pounds) to the four daughters, 50 (pounds) a year beginning two years after his decease.

    One half of Nancy’s share to herself, separate from her husband, and the other half to be equally divided amongst her first children by William Stenger. His son-in-law, Barnet Shuller and his son John Kesey named executors of the Will.
