    In 1676, in company with his father, Nathan Lord, 2d, became a propriet or of seventy-seven acres of land at Old Fields. (See John Morrill.) Th e following illustrates some of the transactions of Nathan Lord, 2d. in r eal estate.

    April 20, 1697. Nathan Lord grantee by Sylvanus Nock, eighteen acres ne ar Rocky Hills in Berwick, adjoining land of grantee, John Plaisted, Za ckariah Emery by gift from James Emery, Nock's father-in-law.

    April 25, 1703. Nathan Lord, et. ux. to Benoni Hodgdon, in exchange; se ven acres of land on Birch Point brook, where John Morrill formerly dwe lt in Kittery.

    May 27, 1708. Nathan Lord, Sen., et. ux. to Nathan Lord, one-half of ho mestead lot on the southside of highway to Birch Point in Kittery.

    April 3, 1710. Nathan Lord, grantee, by John Hurd et. ux. two and one-h alf acres of meadow ground at Sturgeon Creek in Kittery.

    May 23, 1721. Nathan Lord, grantee, by William Grant, et. al. eleven in a ll, 107 acres with five acres of marsh adjoining the bounds of Rocky Hi lls common and Job Emery's land in Berwick and Kittery.

    Sylvanus Nock in his deed, May 6, 1697, conveyed to Nathan2 Lord a trac t of land bounded as follows:--

    Southerly on the land of said Nathan Lord, westerly on the land of John P laisted and on the land of Zacharal Emery, till you come to a small whi te oak northerly, which said white oak is marked with I. E. on the nort h side of the tree and S. W. on the south side and so to run on the nor th side by several marked trees of the same mark to an ash tree, and th en to run south-east by several marked trees till you come to the Rocky h ill to a white oak marked and then to run from that said white oak on a s outh-west line twenty rods and so to run to a marked tree which is the s aid Nathan Lord's bound mark.

    Nathan Lord, Jr. lived in Berwick, ME and was an original member and on e of the founders of the First Church of Berwick.

    He was one of the founders of the church in Berwick, ME in 1702, and on e of its first deacons and a "Ruling Elder" from 1721 until his death i n 1733.

    He was a man of influence and great respectability.

    Kittery, signed (with mark) petition to Parliament concerning Mr. Leader 20 Dec. 1652. [Bax. MSS.] He m. Martha, daughter of William Everett, born about 1640, as she deposed 23 June, 1682. She joined him in a deed of land June 22, 1678, to Thomas Abbet and Jonathan Nayson. His son Nathan deposed 25 March, 1686, ae. about 29 years. Abraham Conley calls him "son in law" in will, dated March 1, 1674. This may mean step-son; or Lord may have married a daughter of Conley for his first wife.

    Richard Tozier resided at Berwick, ME. He was first at Boston, MA, wher e he married in 1656. He was taxed at Cocheco in 1659, but that year mo ved to Salmon Falls where he had a Kittery grant. He had a boundary dis pute with William Piles in 1667. Richard, and probably his son, Thomas, w as killed by Indians in 1675.
