    Krebill, Laurie Marie (Askins) Age 61 of Lowell, passed into the hands of our Lord on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. She is survived by her husband and lifelong friend, Tom; son, Kyle (Machele) Krebill; daughter, Brooke (Justin) Slocum; daughter, Beth (Scott) Westemeyer; son, Keith (Courtney) Krebill; beloved grandchildren and joys of her world, Benjamin, Isabel, Ava, Samuel, Louis, Calvin, and an expected seventh; mother, Madelyn Askins; seven sisters, Linda (Mike) Walker, Leslie (Bob) Rosenbach, Lisa (Mel) Shepherd, Louise Stormzand, Liz (Kevin) Fegan, Margaret (Tony) Krenselewski, Maureen (Mike) Finn; brother, Matt Askins; mother-in-law, Helen Krebill; and many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by father, Laurence Askins; father-in-law, Marvin Krebill; nephew, Rob Rosenbach. Laurie created an unbreakable bond within her family and found pride everyday in her children's accomplishments. A warm and nurturing grandmother, nothing brought Laurie more joy than to hold, kiss, love and spoil her grandchildren. A mother figure to all she met, her beautiful smile and boisterous laugh brought happiness to all. A celebration of Laurie's life, love and joy will be continued for years to come through the memories and everlasting impressions she has left in so many hearts. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's of Parnell, 4351 Parnell Ave. NE, Ada, MI 49301. Rev. Mark Peacock presiding. Visitation Friday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Roth-Gerst Chapel, 305 N. Hudson, Lowell, MI. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to St. Patrick's School of Parnell or Helen Devos Children's Hospital, 100 Michigan St. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.

    KREBILL-Marvin Krebill, aged 87 of Wyoming, died peacefully at home with his family present on Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Surviving him are his wife of 63 years, Helen (nee Wiemann); 10 children, Jim (Kathy), Theda (Joseph) Huyge, Raymond (Chris), John, Tom (Laurie), Karen (Brian) Williams, Paul (Linda), Ann (Dennis) Winn, Bob (Paulette), Mary (Brad) Campbell; 24 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, with one ‘on the way’; his brother, Dwight of Donnellson, Iowa; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Homer and sister, Helen Hervey of Iowa. Marvin was a longtime member of St. John Vianney Parish and the Knights of Columbus 4362. He was a proud WWII Army Infantry veteran and a member of the VFW. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with family at their cottage. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Monday at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW. Committal will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Marvin’s family will receive visitors Sunday 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming and Monday 10-11am at the church. A prayer vigil will be held Sunday at 7pm at the funeral home. A special thanks from the family to his Spectrum Health Hospice staff members. In lieu for flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to Spectrum Health Hospice or St. John Vianney Church. He is loved and will be missed.

    PROMINENT FARMER OF DONNELLSON, IOWA CALLED AWAY IN DEATH.

    Donnellson, Iowa. -- Funeral services for Otto C. Krebill, 72, prominent retired farmer here, were held March 7 at the Zion Mennonite Church. Rev. Harold Thiessen, the pastor, officiated.

    A lifelong resident of this community, Mr. Krebill had served for many years on the Warren School board, was a charter member and past president of the Farm Bureau, and more recently was active in the Soil Conservation Service.
    He was also active in the local church, serving as a Sunday school teacher and member of the church board.

    Otto C. Krebill, 72, of Donnellson, Iowa died in Graham Hospital at Keokuk on March 5, 1958, after having been in failing health for a year and seriously ill for two weeks.

    Born Nov. 16, 1885, north of Donnellson, he had spent his entire life in Lee county and was a retired farmer. On Feb. 11, 1914, he was married to Abbie Marie Schowalter at her home near Donnellson. She died Jan. 25, 1957. He was a member of Zion Mennonite Church, a teacher in its Sunday school for years, former chairman of the church board and past member of the Lee county fair board. He was also a charter member of the Farm Bureau and a past president, had served many years on the Warren school board and more recently on the Soil Conservation Service.

    Surviving are three sons: Marvin of Grand Rapids, Mich., Homer and Dwight of Donnellson; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Helen) Hervey of Keosauqua; four brothers. Elmer of Billings, Mont., Wm. F. of Davenport, A. D. and E. J. both of Donnellson; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Neff of Oak Lawn, Ill., Mrs. A. B. Lowenberg and Emma Krebill of Donnellson; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. One sister preceded him in death.

    Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in Millers' Home for Funerals at 1:30 and in the Mennonite church at 2:00 with Rev. Harold Thiessen officiating.

    Mrs. James Slaughter and Mrs. Ernest Krehbiel sang, accompanied by Miss Iris Lowenberg. Interment was in the Mennonite cemetery.

    Info from Roger Hervey: Abigail was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in her 50's and was in a wheel chair by age 54. Her husband, Otto, was her cargiver for the rest of her life. Her son, Dwight, and his wife Mildred moved into the family farm after they wer married in 1947. Otto and Abigail moved into Donnellson at that time. Otto had cancer, possibly resulting from trauma from his truck being rear-ended.
