James (Jim) Marion Leuck, 70, of North Manchester, Ind., died at 11:30 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2004, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born Aug. 20, 1933, in Lake City, he was the son of Marion O. and Caroyl Lilly Leuck. On Feb. 17, 1965, he married Roberta Hervey Collinge in Keosauqua.

Mr. Leuck retired in November 2003 after 15 years as assistant manager of the printing department at Manchester College. He had worked for several newspapers as a reporter/linotype operator, including the Van Buren County Register in Keosauqua and the Record–Republican in Bonaparte. He moved to North Manchester in 1968, where he was managing editor and sports editor for the News Journal. He and his wife later owned and operated the Print Shoppe and Jim's Choice.

He was a 1953 graduate of Rockwell City High School in Rockwell City. He later attended a linotype trade school in Charles City. He was a Korean War Army veteran. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He held offices in the North Manchester Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce and Grand View Bend Community Association.

Survivors include his wife; three stepdaughters, Joyce Davidson of Louisville, Ky., Jacque Lynn Collinge of Indianapolis and Julie Hostetler of Madison, Wis.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one half sister.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

The funeral for Mr. Leuck will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ellis Andrews officiating. Burial will be in rural Center Chapel Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for Wabash County (Ind.) Cancer Society and Center Chapel Cemetery.
