Gary D. Meinholz, age 78, of Oswego, IL, formerly Aurora, IL peacefully passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at The Reserve at Oswego.
He was born April 13, 1943 in Eau Claire, WI, the son of Robert and Lorrayne nee Corrick Meinholz.
Gary was a member of St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church in Sugar Grove, IL. He played piano and organ for various churches and numerous weddings, taught music, piano and organ to many. He learned to play the piano by sneaking into the Paramount Theatre in Aurora, IL as a young boy. Gary also taught science at Oswego High School for 40 years and at Our Lady of Good Council School in Aurora, IL. where he met his loving wife Roseann. He truly loved his Family and enjoyed family time. He was very creative and tenacious. He loved to fix things. Gary was an avid baker and loved to share his talent with others often making bread and sweet treats.
In 1968 Gary married his wife of 52 years, Roseann nee Oldenburg Meinholz. The two met while teaching at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Aurora, Il. Gary has three beautiful daughters, Heidi (Jay) Meinholz-Bolger, Alison (Jim) Senft and Jordan (Andy Regan) Meinholz, 4 grandchildren, Piper, Jonah, Naomi and Mason Senft, and his faithful Scottie Matty.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and a brother James.
Funeral Mass.will be Friday, May 20, 2022 at 10:00 A. M. at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 8S055 Dugan Road, Sugar Grove, IL 60554.
