- My research had previously identified George W's spouse as (unknown) Hibbits. This was based on a 28 Dec 1918 Obituary in the Galena Daily Gazette which was found the Galena Library in April of 2000. However, this conclusion is in error.
The US Census for 1920, District 33 of Rice Twp., Jo Daviess Co., Il lists a George W. Green living with his brother-in-law Frank Hibbits. It also identifies this George W Green's birthplace as Missouri and his parents from England and Pennsylvania. This George W. who married a Miss Hibbits is clearly not the same George W. of this research.
I have also recently verified that the tombstone lists his death at 14y 7d. Therefore, he most likely was never married.
