  [gpackard.ged] Daniel purchased the land where Bear Hill Farm is located from David Shibles on Feb. 11, 1809. Later he purchased additional land from Ephraim Gay. His first home on Bear Hill was a log cabin. The original part of the present buildings were built in 1831.
