William M. Humphrey has followed agricultural pursuits with great success. He is a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, with which organization he united when quite young, and has been for Forty-six years steward. He was a son of Simeon, born Nelson County, February 23, 1791. He died in 1867. By occupation a farmer, his farm of 200 acres, which was left to his children at his death, was a model of neatness and one of the best improved in the county, He was twice married, first in February, 1814 to Miss Nancy Elliston, of Washington County, Ky. To this marriage two daughters were born, Mary A. (deceased) and Winnie A., (now Mrs. James Hutchins). He, like most of his ancestors and descendants, was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Henry A.
