Terry L. Rudd - Hawk Eye, The - (Sep/5/2007)
Terry L. Rudd, 60, of Fort Madison, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Born Jan. 5, 1947, in Fort Madison, he was the son of James and Nellie Heidbreder Rudd. On July 7, 1969, he married Cynthia West in Fort Madison.
Mr. Rudd was a firefighter for the Fort Madison Fire Department from 1968 to 2002. He retired as an assistant chief after 34 years of service. He was of the Catholic faith. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed working in his backyard and anything Disney.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Theresa Rudd of Montrose, Danielle Rudd of Coralville; two grandchildren; his mother; one sister, Ila Hamilton of Fort Madison; five brothers, Gary Rudd of Anaheim, Calif., Jerry Rudd, Mike Rudd, Danny Joe Rudd, all of Fort Madison and Jimmy Dean Rudd of Biloxi, Miss.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, one sister and his grandparents.
There will be no visitation. His body has been cremated.
The funeral for Mr. Rudd will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Soldiers' Circle in Oakland Cemetery, with the Rev. Troy Richmond officiating. Fort Madison Veterans Honor Guard will perform military rites.
A memorial has been established. King-Lynk Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
