Marguerite Elizabeth Nelson, 85, of San Leandro, Calif., formerly of Fort Madison, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006, at Casa Sandoval in Hayward, Calif.
Born June 7, 1921, in Fort Madison, she was the daughter of Maud and Pete Hirstine. She married Joseph Nelson. He preceded her in death.
She lived in San Leandro for 45 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Deborah Dettmer of Castro Valley, Calif.; one sister, Doris McDonnell of Fort Madison; one brother, Verle Hirstine of Montana; nieces; and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
The funeral for Mrs. Nelson was Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, in the Reflection Chapel at the Chapel of Times in Hayward, Calif.
A memorial has been established for First United Methodist Church in San Leandro.
