Dalin Dee Schowalter: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice

Deceased Name: Dalin Dee Schowalter
Dalin Dee Schowalter, 65, of El Dorado, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at his home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Temple Baptist Church, El Dorado. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will follow the funeral services in Cassoday Cemetery.
Dalin was born on Dec. 3, 1943 in Newton, the son of Eno and Opal (Loucks) Schowalter. He attended grade school in Cassoday and McLain and graduated from El Dorado High School with the class of 1961. He spent most of his life in El Dorado and worked with the City of El Dorado water department. He was retired. Dalin's paternal great-great-grandfather, Christian Schowalter, brought Mennonite religion to America from Germany and his maternal great-great-grandfather on his mother's side, David Holdeman, started the Holdeman Mennonite religion.
Dalin belonged to Temple Baptist Church; loved to do woodworking, enjoyed motorcycles, boating, camping, fishing, and loved to listen and study the Bible and listen to books on tape.
On Nov. 10, 1984 he was married to Karen Silliman at Greensburg.
Surviving and left to honor his life are: his wife, Karen of the home; three daughters, Christina
Coen and husband Ron of Corpus Christi, Texas, Rachel Hotchkin and husband Steve of El Dorado and Katie of the home; a sister, Darlene Adams and husband Larry of El Dorado; two brothers, Dean Schowalter and wife Kay of Benton and Virgil Schowalter and wife Virgie of El Dorado; seven grandchildren, Cassandra, Joshua, CeCe, Stephen, Kimberly, Christopher and Justin; a great-grandchild, Christina Marie; and extended family members
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Dalin Dee, II; Dalin's twin brother Dennis; a sister, Velda; his father, Eno; mother, Opal; and a step-son, Douglas.
Memorials in his memory for the Missions Program of Temple Baptist Church of El Dorado may be left with Carlson Funeral Home, where friends may call.
