    • The following from his brother James' obituary. James lived in
      Kansas until the spring of 1895 when he and a younger brother Joe,
      (15) left by way of horse and buggy for the state of Iowa, to make
      their home with an aunt, Mrs. Mosier, who lived on a large farm near
      Lebanon. Another brother, John, soon joined them.
