- Ardith E. Oldenburg, age 82, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at Agrace Hospice & Palliative Care after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Monroe on December 3, 1935, the daughter of Rolland and Mabel (Schneider) Wells. She studied Education at UW-Platteville. Ardith married James Oldenburg on December 3, 1955, and he preceded her in death on April 27, 2012. In addition to teaching elementary school, she worked at the Hedberg Public Library and was an owner and partner of Mario's Pizza in Edgerton for 30 years.
Aridth enjoyed the closeness of her family, was active in all their lives, travelling extensively, and lived with her daughter Carla the last 10 years. Her travels included trips with family members from Europe to Alaska. She was a masterful quilter who designed lifelong keepsakes for many people. She enjoyed putting together puzzles, life puzzles as well as cardboard puzzles, recently electronic puzzles. Ardith always gave to others and was often heard saying "This is my treat".
Ardith is survived by her 5 children: Mark (Maria) Oldenburg, Daniel (Kandyce) Oldenburg, Carla (Michael) Zimmerman, Eric (Jane Petchak) Oldenburg, and Cynthia (Kevin) Klemm; grandchildren: Brianna (Colin), Stephanie, Atley (Laxman), Adrienne (Zach), Benjamin, Jase, Sarah, Sam, Laura, Phillip, Aurelia and Benjamin ; 2 great grandchildren, Milo and Ada; and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 4 siblings: Marvel, Wilbur, Jean and James; and grandson, Talon Bluhm.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY with Pastor Jerry Amstutz officiating.
