Naomi Krebill
Naomi May Krebill, 88, of the Kensington in Fort Madison, formerly of Donnellson, died at 2:35 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012, at Fort Madison Community Hospital.
Born May 27, 1923, in Outamagi County, Wis., she was the daughter of the Rev. Arthur Henry Julius and Helene Wilhemina Krause Werner. On June 6, 1948, she married Maurice Krebill in Cataract, Wis. He died Nov. 11, 2010.
Mrs. Krebill worked a few years at Sheaffer Pen in Fort Madison. After her marriage, she and her husband spent many years raising children and farming.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Donnellson. She was an active member of Farm Bureau Women and served as their president. She was a member of the Donnellson American Legion Auxiliary. She was on several square dance clubs, the last one being the Circle 8 Square Dance Club of Houghton. She enjoyed square dancing, reading, sewing and spending countless hours growing, canning and freezing vegetables from her garden. She was a very generous woman and loved her dog.
Survivors include her four daughters, Marlene Dickens of Davenport, Rita Krebill of Livermore, Calif., Rhonda Edwards of Cedar Rapids and Patricia Koller of Donnellson; one son, Alvin Krebill of Donnellson; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Ball of Donnellson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son in infancy, three sisters and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson, where family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
The memorial service for Mrs. Krebill will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Donnellson, with the Rev. Dean Graber officiating, assisted by the Rev. Robert Koepcke. Burial will be in Zion Mennonite Cemetery, near Donnellson.
Memorials have been established for Donnellson Library or St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Donnellson.
Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Farmington is assisting the family with the arrangements.
