Maurice Krebill - The Burlington Hawk Eye
Maurice Frederick Krebill, 88, of Donnellson died at 12:05 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at the Kensington in Fort Madison.
Born March 20, 1922, in Donnellson, he was the son of Henry F. and Barbara Auwaerter Krebill. On June 6, 1948, he married Naomi Werner.
Mr. Krebill farmed for more than 55 years northwest of Donnellson on the family farms. He served in the 8th Air Force in England, France and Belgium during World War II. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Donnellson.
He served on the Farm Service Board of Directors. He was a member of Lee County Farm Bureau serving as Lee County president and other positions. He was a member of Donnellson American Legion Post 474 and past committee member of ASCS for Lee County.
He enjoyed modern square dancing with his wife, riding his four-wheeler with his border collie and Farmall tractors.
Survivors include his wife of the Kensington; four daughters, Marlene Dickens of Davenport, Rita Krebill of Livermore, Calif., Rhonda Edwards of Cedar Rapids and Patricia Koller of Donnellson; one son, Alvin Krebill of Donnellson; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Karayanis of Santa Fe, N.M.; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one infant son, his parents and one brother.
Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory in Donnellson where family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
The memorial service for Mr. Krebill will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Donnellson with the Rev. Robert Koepcke officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Zion Mennonite Cemetery near Donnellson.

Henry Richard "Dick" Krebill, 76, of Fort Madison, died Monday, July 6, 2009, at Fort Madison Community Hospital.
Born June 14, 1933, in Donnellson, he was the son of Henry Fred and Barbara E. Auwaerter Krebill. On June 26, 1955, he married Viola "Vi" Lancaster in Memphis, Mo.
Mr. Krebill retired from Union Electric as a line trouble shooter. He served in the Army during the Korean War in the 82nd Airborne.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Madison, American Legion in Donnellson and a past member of the Past Time Club and Fort Madison Electrical Board Member from 1969 to 1980.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard Krebill of Seoul, South Korea, and Tim Krebill of Donnellson; one daughter, Susan Jane Lee of Atoka, Okla.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Maurice Krebill of Donnellson; and one sister, Dorothy Karayanis of Dallas, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory in Fort Madison, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mr. Krebill will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brenda Goodall officiating. Burial will be in Mennonite Cemetery, Donnellson.
Memorials have been established for First United Methodist Church and Mayo Clinic's Molecular Neuroscience Research Program for Spinal Cord Injuries.
