Jakob Angst was born in Switzerland January 4, 1841and departed this earth May 6, 1922, age d 81 years. He came with his parents to America in the year of 1856, locating in Davis Count y, Iowa where he lived all his life except 14 months spent in South Dakota.

He was married to Eliza Hart December 25, 1867. She died March 1874. He married Miss Florenc e Carson May 16, 1876. One chile Ruth B. Angst was born to this union February 7, 1879 and d ied December 9, 1887. He was a member of the G. A. R. Co. D. 45th Iowa Regiment. Another so ldier has gone to his reward and the ranks of the old soldiers are getting thinner.

He was also a member and an official of the Methodist Church at Bloomfield. He was always fai thful at all the services of the church. Two weeks ago he hobbled over to the church. He wa s usually at the Men's Bible Class and the Thursday evening prayer meeting. He will be great ly missed in all of these.

He leaves to morn his death his wife and one brother Konrad Angst og Udell, Iowa. Funeral se rvices were conducted at the home of W. J. Fowler at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. Interment w as made in the I. O. O. F. cemetery.
