    Marijo Hirstine, 76, of Burlington died at 7:49 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2009, at Great River Medical Center in West Bur-lington.

    Born June 26, 1932, in Fort Madison, she was the daughter of Frank E. Hirstine and Maxine Richardson.

    Ms. Hirstine was a teacher at Sunnyside Elementary School. She worked for the Burlington School system for 21 years, Delta Airlines for six years, and Northwestern Bell for three years.

    She was of the Christian faith and enjoyed gardening, crafts, sewing, quilting and traveling.

    Survivors include her mother of Burlington; one brother, Gary F. Hirstine of Kerrville, Texas; two aunts, Betty Robertson of Springfield, Mo., and Madelyn Murphy of Waverly; one niece; one nephew; five great-nieces; and five great-nephews; and two great-great-nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her father.

    There will be no formal visitation.

    The memorial service for Ms. Hirstine will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Klein's Chapel, with the Rev. Dean Moberg officiating. Ash committal will be in Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison at a later date.

    A memorial has been established for Great River Medical Klein Center.
