...Funeal services were Thursday at the Christie Funeral Home for Mrs. Pearl Long, eighty-four, former La Platian who died in Oroville, California on February 20.
...Born in Newark, Missouri, Mrs. Long moved to La Plata in 1907. Her husbnad died in 1922 and in recent years she had made her home with her daugher and son. For the past two and a half years she has lived with her son, Laurance in Oroville.
...Survivors include a brother, P.B. Humphrey of La Plata, a brother, A.A. Humphrey of Kirksville; a sister, Mrs. May Danahur of Oakdale, California; one son, Laurance of Oroville, California; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
...Rev. Claude Thompson officiated at services at 2 p.m and burial was in the La Plata Cemetery.
