    Robert Heidbreder Jr.

    Robert J Heidbreder Jr., 81, of Fort Madison, died at 10:20 am. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, at West Point Care Center.

    Born Jan. 14, 1923, in Fort Madison, he was the son of Robert J. Sr. and Georgia Hirstine Heidbreder. On Jan. 9, 1949, he married Hazel Imogene Murray in Kahoka, Mo.

    Mr. Heidbreder worked for the railroad and was a farm hand. He then worked for Chevron Chemical Corp. for 17 years, retiring in 1986.

    He was a World War II Army veteran and member of Donnellson American Legion. He loved to fish, garden and hunt for mushrooms.

    Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ronald Heidbreder of Danville and Stanley Heidbreder of Donnellson; three daughters, Sheri Woolverton of Donnellson, Roberta Gonterman of Bonaparte and Brenda Featheringill of Fort Madison; 11 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Nellie Rudd, Dorothy Ramsey and Patty Marshall, all of Fort Madison, Hazel Bentram of Burlington, Esther Womack of Denmark, Donna Steeples of Arbela, Mo., and Sandy Howe of Ankeny; and many nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

    Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at King-Lynk Funeral Home in Fort Madison, where the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

    The graveside service for Mr. Heidbreder will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Soldiers' Circle in Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison, with Dan Dingus officiating.

    Memorials have been established for Lee County Hospice, Donnellson American Legion and Meals on Wheels.

    Ronald W. Heidbreder, 59, of Danville, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City. Services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Jaggar Cemetery, Danville. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Danville Fire Department and for his grandchildren.
